Hi there! Just wanted to give you a long-overdue thanks fo this sock post. I wound up buying some of the O marled socks and have been using them this winter. I was about to go get another pair and Sockdreams says they are out of stock. Guess we're not the only ones giving positive reviews.

Cheers,

This is quite strange. Here we have a gentleman who served his country to uphold freedom of choice and yet when he desires to enjoy his freedom of choice, the government which thinks nothing of him being killed in battle , would deny him this single right. This postman is correct on all fronts concerning the wearing of a kilt: Men need the air flow when walking especially when carrying the mail. The health issue concerning the air freedom between the knees is required of men and boys. How do I know all this, I wear a kilt out in public .
Can you imagine a woman wanted to wear a particular type of clothing and the government denied it. There would be pig squeals from flaming feminist through the land. Our postal govenment: Hum-bug!!!

Lou is correct. For the length, kilts traditionally hang down to the middle of the knee.

Though I don't think I'll buy a kilt this cheap.

@big mike:
>What’s usual for a kilt? When I wear Dockers trousers (;-) I definitely >prefer the relaxed fit: the regular fit is just too high. I guess the only way >to tell is to try on a an actual kilt.

If you're looking for a kilt, I'd recommend a utilikilt for you since they're more relaxed than a standard kilt. I was going to go for one, but the look of the black watch tartan has gradually won me over, despite higher sit.

I'll be the first Swedish-Italian in a kilt!

The velcro rather than buckles is one of the reasons that this is a casual kilt. It is meant to be worn where a man might were shorts or some other casual garment, and the velcro, I think, is fine for this.

But each to their own. It is nice to be able to choose from such a wide variety of modern kilts.

Velcro ?........A kilt has buckles, and all the military ones I have, have 3. I have an unissued NATO kilt still in the plastic bag it was put into in 1967 and it has 3 leather straps. The cost of buckles is about 3 dollars a buckle. The would do better with the traditional buckles.....I think that is why I have not purchased one from them.....

are you a pagan? interesting. I did some research, although I'm not a pagan myself. Is kind of awkward to live in the south hemisfere, where is Halloween, and everywhere starts with pumpking and wiches, but you have to thing to celebrate the oposite ^^;; But is not for that I'm not a pagan! :p

Great post, and that's definately more like a skirt than a kilt. I found some pretty good kilts which I've put in the link above. I don't think these have pockets though, but they seem decent enough to wear out and are really cheap.

As a kilt wearer I have been told varying things in my office about wearing a kilt from "why not" to "that doesn't comply with the dress policy".

I wear mine as often as I can and proudly not only becuase of my heritage but for comfort as well.

I wish Mr. Peterson luck in getting this approved one day so that all of us kilt wearers can do so more freely.
